PEAKnx presents a newly developed touch panel for room control in smart homes: the slim Controlmicro. The device celebrates its premiere at the Light + Building in Frankfurt (8 - 13 March 2020, Stand D80, Hall 9.0). With its 8-inch screen, it is ideally suited for room control and can be installed flexibly in portrait or landscape format on a standard switch box. The Controlmicro will be available in 2 versions: with and without KNX connection. It can be operated with the PEAKnx software YOUVI or other common visualisation programs for room and house control – the Windows 10 based system makes it possible. Despite its compact design, the Controlmicro is equipped with high-quality features. Depending on the software used, it has the same application options as the larger PEAKnx panels Controlpro and Controlmini.
Small, but full of functionalities
With its powerful random access memory and Intel quad-core processor, the Controlmicro offers high performance in the smallest space. The dimensions of the touch panel (without switch box mounting element) are only 233 x 125 x 13 millimetres. Thanks to the integrated loudspeakers and microphone, the device is also well suited for door communication. The 2.4 GHz WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0 enable it to be used even without a without a cable.
Flexible usage possible
PEAKnx offers the Controlmicro as a client variant for users who already have a control panel. It then can be supplied with the necessary information via Ethernet. If users want to operate the Controlmicro alone, they receive it with a KNX connection and can connect it directly via KNX and Ethernet. With the right software, the panel thus functions as an independent room controller, which is not dependent on an external server or IP router. For the most common functions of building control, the YOUVI software package Basic, consisting of visualization, IP router and bus monitor, will be included in the delivery.
User comfort and timeless elegance
The Controlmicro reaches an optimal display of all desired contents via the high-resolution (1200 x 1920 px) 8-inch TFT screen. The LED backlight is energy-saving and can be switched on automatically thanks to the proximity sensor. With its black front and the housing milled from aluminium, the touch panel looks very elegant and fits timelessly into any living environment. It is suitable for uncomplicated on-wall installation: Only a standard 55 mm switch box and a 24-volt supply are required. Cooling takes place silently via convection, without mechanically susceptible fans.
