More than just a user interface

PEAKnx panels are far more than tablets: they combine KNX building control, visualisation, powerful hardware and flexible expansion options in one permanently installed system. Depending on the project, they can be integrated into an existing system as clients or used as powerful standalone control centres for the entire building.

Mobile control via appWith the YOUVI App, you can also conveniently control your building from your smartphone. The ideal complement to a permanently installed panel – whether at home on your local network or remotely using the YOUVI Connect module as an add-on.

Open to other visualisation solutions
Open to other visualisation solutionsThanks to Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC, the panels can also be used with other Windows-based and web-based visualisation solutions and browser applications.

Why choose a permanently installed panel?

No searching, charging or unlocking: a permanently installed touch panel provides an always-available control point for the building.

Unlike a retrofitted tablet solution, a professional touch panel is designed from the outset for permanent installation in the building. It integrates neatly into the wall and interior design, has a permanent power supply and is engineered for reliable operation over many years. At PEAKnx, sophisticated thermal management and high-quality components help ensure reliable long-term operation.

The result is not a makeshift solution with a visible mount and separate power supply, but a high-quality control centre that completes the overall smart home or smart building solution.

FAQ

FAQs

Everything clear, or do you still have questions?

What is KNX and what are the benefits of the standard for smart homes and smart buildings?

KNX is a globally established, open standard for intelligent home and building automation. The system enables cross-manufacturer networking and control of lighting, shading, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, energy management, security technology and many other building functions.

Core automation functions within a KNX installation can operate locally and independently of external cloud services. At the same time, a large number of manufacturers offer certified KNX products. This means users are not permanently tied to a single manufacturer when selecting products or subsequently expanding their installation. Its openness, interoperability and long-term availability make KNX one of the leading international standards for residential and commercial building automation.

Which PEAKnx panel is right for my project?

The most suitable PEAKnx touch panel depends, among other things, on the required display size and performance, the installation conditions and the functions to be used via the panel.

  • Controlmicro: compact 8-inch solution for smaller control areas and flexible installation situations
  • Control 12: versatile 11.6-inch panel for smart homes as well as office and commercial projects
  • Control 16: 15.6-inch panel with plenty of screen space for a clear visualisation of more extensive KNX projects
  • Controlpro: powerful 18.5-inch panel available in three performance variants for particularly demanding applications and projects

Our panel quiz helps you find the model that best suits your individual requirements.

What are the differences between Controlmicro, Control 12, Control 16 and Controlpro?

The four PEAKnx touch panels differ primarily in display size, performance, mounting and design options, making them suitable for different requirements.

Controlmicro

  • Compact 8-inch display
  • Portrait or landscape installation
  • Particularly flexible where space is limited

Control 12

  • 11.6-inch touch display
  • Versatile solution for residential and commercial projects
  • Three mounting options: surface-mounted, flush-mounted or flush-with-the-wall

Control 16

  • Large 15.6-inch Full HD display
  • Optimiertes Verhältnis von Display und Rand
  • Optimised screen-to-housing ratio with plenty of space for extensive KNX project visualisations
  • Three mounting options: surface-mounted, flush-mounted or flush-with-the-wall

Controlpro

  • Large 18.5-inch touch display
  • Three performance variants for different project requirements
  • Particularly suitable for demanding visualisations and applications

All four models share an open, Windows-based platform and all-in-one functionality with YOUVI Basic, a KNX server and a KNX IP router. Our panel quiz helps determine which panel best suits a particular project.

Will my smart home work without an internet connection?

Yes. A professionally planned KNX system generally operates independently of the internet. Important functions such as lighting control, shading, heating and scenes therefore remain available even if the internet connection is interrupted. Automation takes place locally within the KNX system.

An internet connection is required for functions that access external services, such as certain cloud services, cloud-based voice control or remote access. Depending on the application, these functions can be used via the YOUVI Connect module or the YOUVI App, for example. The building's core control and automation functions remain independent of these services.

Which devices and building functions can I control via a PEAKnx touch panel?

PEAKnx touch panels can be used to centrally control and visualise numerous areas of a smart home or smart building.

These include, for example:

  • Lighting and shading
  • Heating, air conditioning and ventilation
  • Energy and consumption data
  • Door communication and IP cameras
  • Audio systems
  • Weather data and sensors
  • Other systems connected via KNX or suitable interfaces

With KNX and YOUVI, different building functions can be brought together in a single user interface. Additional modules and bridges can be used to extend the range of functions depending on the project.

Can a PEAKnx panel act as both a visualisation and a server?

Yes. PEAKnx touch panels can be used as all-in-one solutions. With YOUVI Basic, they combine visualisation, a KNX server and a KNX IP router in a single device. The YOUVI App for mobile control is also included.

Depending on the project, this can eliminate the need for separate devices for visualisation, the KNX server and KNX IP interface or router. At the same time, thanks to their open Windows-based platform, the panels can also be used with other visualisation and existing server solutions.

Is PEAKnx suitable for new builds and modernisation projects?

Yes. PEAKnx touch panels are suitable for both new builds and the modernisation of existing KNX installations. In new builds, the panel size, mounting type and installation requirements can be planned to suit the individual project from the outset.

For modernisation projects, we offer suitable replacement kits for numerous older KNX touch panels from different manufacturers. In many cases, existing flush-mounted boxes can continue to be used, avoiding major structural alterations.

How future-proof is a KNX solution?

KNX has been established as an international building automation standard for decades and is continuously being developed. As numerous manufacturers offer compatible KNX products, installations remain flexible in the long term and can be expanded or modernised as requirements change.

PEAKnx also relies on an open, Windows-based platform. This means users are not permanently tied to a particular visualisation solution and can use other Windows-based and web-based solutions alongside YOUVI. Depending on the project, the touch panels can also be used either as an all-in-one solution or as clients within an existing installation.

Can I control my smart home via smartphone?

Yes. The YOUVI App allows you to control your KNX building automation from a smartphone or tablet. This includes lighting, shading, room temperatures, scenes and other integrated functions.

Control is possible both on the local network and remotely. At the same time, permanently installed PEAKnx touch panels remain available at all times as central control points throughout the building.

Why do professional integrators choose PEAKnx?

PEAKnx touch panels give system integrators a high degree of flexibility when planning and implementing different KNX projects. As all-in-one solutions with visualisation, a KNX server and a KNX IP router, they can perform several functions within a single device. At the same time, the open, Windows-based platform supports YOUVI as well as other Windows-based and web-based visualisation solutions and applications.

Different panel sizes and performance variants, flexible mounting options and replacement solutions for existing KNX installations provide additional flexibility for both new builds and modernisation projects. Development and manufacturing in Germany, together with personal technical support, complete the offering for professional users.
