We have extensively revised our proven Control 12 . The new generation offers new control options, an updated housing design and increased processing power. In doing so, we have brought the latest panel technology to the proven 12-inch format for modern KNX projects in smart homes and commercial buildings.
Greater convenience in everyday use
The Control 12 has been designed to make everyday operation even more convenient. For the first time, it features five freely configurable side buttons, complementing the touch interface with quick, direct access to frequently used functions. The buttons can be assigned to devices or HTTP commands. Scenes and logic functions can also be assigned to the side buttons when used with our YOUVI visualisation and the YOUVI Logic Module.
Another new feature is the ambient lighting integrated into the sides of the panel. Depending on the configuration, it can provide status information as well as indicate critical conditions or events in the building. For example, it can show when surplus electricity is available, helping users choose the best time to run appliances such as dishwashers or washing machines.
The ambient lighting can also be used to create individual lighting moods or to complement the interior design.
The speakers have been optimised, providing better sound and enhanced speech quality, particularly for door communication.

New design, proven system openness
The housing has been completely redesigned. The fully milled metal frame with its distinctive visible edge gives the Control 12 an even more premium appearance while also improving heat dissipation. This allows the panel to be cooled more efficiently and helps extend its service life. Like all devices in our panel range, we develop and manufacture the Control 12 in Germany. We have also rearranged the connections and redesigned the rear of the housing for a clearer layout. On the front, a USB-C port replaces the previous USB-A ports.
As standard, we supply the Control 12 with our in-house YOUVI Basic software package, turning it into an all-in-one solution that combines visualisation, a KNX server, an IP router and a smart home app. Depending on the project, the Control 12 can be used either as a server or as a client.
The panel runs on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, an operating system designed primarily for continuous professional and industrial use. It does not require major feature updates and comes without unnecessary pre-installed software, while regular security updates help keep the system up to date. This open Windows platform also allows the Control 12 to support other Windows- and web-based visualisation solutions as well as browser applications.

More performance for demanding KNX projects
We have also specifically enhanced the panel's performance. The increased RAM ensures smoother performance, particularly when displaying multiple camera streams. It also provides the additional processing power needed for more complex visualisations.
“With the new generation of the Control 12, we are continuing to develop our panel range,” says our Managing Director Lorenz Rohrmann. “Today, users expect powerful, flexible and future-proof solutions for KNX building automation. The new Control 12 has been designed precisely with these requirements in mind.”
