Continuity and modernisation in existing installations
For decades, JUNG KNX systems have stood for durability, reliability and a distinctive design language. As a result, many JUNG touch panels remain an integral part of smart homes and commercial buildings even after many years of operation.
As individual panel generations age, however, a key question arises: How can existing installations be modernised without requiring structural alterations or abandoning proven KNX infrastructures?
To address precisely this challenge, new adapter solutions are now available, enabling older JUNG Smart Control panels to be upgraded in a targeted manner that provides long-term investment value.
The starting point: strong market presence and high expectations for replacement solutions
The JUNG Smart Control 7 and Smart Control 10 touch panels were installed in large numbers over many years, particularly in markets such as Germany, Austria and Spain. Their success was built on a clear design language, deep integration into KNX systems, and strong acceptance among planners and system integrators.
At the same time, one requirement was always clear: Modernisation projects in existing buildings must not result in extensive construction work. Flush-mounted boxes, wall openings and existing KNX infrastructures should be retained wherever possible. This requirement created the need for a solution that:
- continues the JUNG system philosophy
- protects existing installations
- and at the same time enables the transition to modern panel technology
Designed as a partnership: complementary solutions for existing JUNG Systems
Within its current portfolio, JUNG focuses on more compact panel sizes of up to 10 inches and clearly defined system solutions. For larger existing installations based on the Smart Control generation, a complementary adapter solution has therefore been developed, enabling existing flush-mounted boxes to be retained while integrating modern touch panels. These adapters have been specifically designed by PEAKnx for use with existing JUNG mounting boxes, allowing current-generation panels to be integrated in a technically robust and visually refined way – without any wall alterations or structural changes.
Control 12 replacement kit:
JUNG Smart Control 7
Thanks to the adapter contained in the replacement set, the PEAKnx Control 12 is quickly installed in the previous flush-mounted box, type SC 7 EBG, without the need for any further chiselling work.

Control 16 replacement kit:
JUNG Smart Control 7
The KNX touch panel Control 16 from PEAKnx is the perfect alternative to the Jung Smart Control 7 The modern operating panel can easily display the entire KNX building control system on its generous 15.6-inch Full-HD display.
Control 16 replacement kit:
JUNG Smart Control 10
The PEAKnx Control 16 is the ideal replacement for an old JUNG Smart Control 10. Thanks to its shallow installation depth, it can be mounted almost flush with the wall without requiring a new flush-mounted box.

Technical implementation: tailor-made for existing installations
JUNG Smart Control 10 – Straightforward Integration
The flush-mounted box of the Smart Control 10 provides sufficient installation space for an adapter solution. A precisely engineered adapter plate enables the near flush-mounted installation of a modern panel, resulting in a clean, secure and discreet appearance.
JUNG Smart Control 7 – A thoughtful solution for restricted installation space
The Smart Control 7 offers significantly more limited installation space. To address this, a two-part solution has been developed, consisting of:
- a specially designed adapter plate for the existing flush-mounted box
- a matching surface-mounted frame designed to accommodate the electronics and panel assembly
The result is a technically reliable and visually refined solution that respects the character of the existing installation.
Quality in every detail – in line with the JUNG system philosophy
As with all components within the KNX environment, long-term quality is determined by precision in the details. Particular attention was therefore given to:
- manufacturing tolerances of flush-mounted boxes in existing buildings
- precisely aligned fixing points
- stress-free installation, even where wall openings are slightly distorted or uneven
An integrated spring mechanism ensures that the adapters are correctly positioned before final tightening takes place – a clear advantage for system integrators, particularly when working with older installations.
Added value for end users and system integrators
Replacing an older Smart Control panel not only preserves the existing KNX installation but also significantly enhances its functionality:
- modern visualisation capabilities
- a high-performance platform
- flacher, lüfterloser Aufbau
- a slim, fanless design
Of particularly importance to JUNG: Compatibility with the JUNG Smart Visu Server has been comprehensively tested and validated, providing a crucial level of planning reliability and system continuity.
Conclusion: protecting investments in established JUNG installations
The new adapter solutions are specifically designed to close a gap in existing installations, enabling proven JUNG KNX systems to be seamlessly transitioned to the next generation – without structural alterations and without disrupting established system architectures.
They exemplify JUNG’s commitment to combining future-proofing, design excellence and a consistent system philosophy, even within long-established installations. For both system integrators and end users, this creates a practical and future-oriented solution that protects existing investments while opening the door to new technological possibilities.
